SiltAudit, our website checker.
If you saw SiltAudit in your server logs, this page is for you. It is the tool we use to check a business's website before we send the owner a free findings sheet.
- Project
- Your business, online
- Sheet
- G-003
- Issued
What it checks
It looks up the web address, checks the security certificate, and reads the homepage and a small sample of other pages, plus robots.txt, the sitemap and llms.txt. It runs one speed test as a phone would load the page, and saves screenshots as proof.
It does not sign in, fill in forms or place orders, and it does not visit Yelp, Facebook or other listing sites.
How it behaves
- It obeys robots.txt. Anything disallowed for SiltAudit, or for all crawlers, it skips.
- One audit per business per day, at most.
- It sends a few requests at a time, never a flood.
How it identifies itself
Every request carries this user agent:
SiltAudit/<version> (+https://siltdigital.com/bot)<version> is the tool's version number.
How to opt out
Add this to your robots.txt:
User-agent: SiltAudit
Disallow: /Or email curtis@siltdigital.com with your web address, and we stop checking it.
